The Biggest Losers (this is not a typo)

Let me premise this with the disclaimer that anything written today is going to be of the rant variety.  You have been warned:

It's no secret that I am an avid watcher and fan of the show "The Biggest Loser."  I find it to be an incredibly inspiring show, it's one reality TV show that isn't motivated by the desire to make money, but instead by the desire to change people's lives which is amazing.  My one goal in life is to make a positive difference in someone else's life; I want my life to matter in someone else's so the show is a huge inspiration for me (plus I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle like the people on the show).  Anyway the show has always been very motivating to me in my own weight-loss/exercise journey (if they can lose one-hundred pounds I can certainly lose 10) until this season.

In previous seasons the show has been all about paying it forward, motivating others, losing weight, and changing your life.  This season has been all about playing the game, stabbing backs, acting entitled, and DRAMA.  To me it seems like the contestants are focused more on winning the game for the money than they are on losing weight and helping others to do the same.

If you haven't been watching here is a short recap:
Every contestant on the show this season was a member of a couple (couples of friends and family members....maybe all families....and one team of strangers).  In the very first episode each couple competed for a chance to be on the show.  One couple (aqua team) lost the challenge and was sent home with the opportunity to return if they lost a certain amount of weight in 30 days.  When this couple left all of the rest of the couples offered their condolences and told them how "unfair" it was that they were being sent home.  The rest of the couples were unaware that this couple was offered the chance to come back.  After this couple left the remaining couples were split up: one member of each couple trained with Bob on the Black team while the other member trained with Dolvett on the Red team.  Plenty of drama ensued during the 30 days the aqua team was at home and a couple instigators of said drama revealed themselves (Conda and Jeremy to name a couple).  None of that drama compared to what happened when the aqua team returned.  Not one member of any team at the ranch welcomed the aqua team back.  Instead of being excited that the couple they all said was unfairly sent home before the game even started was being offered the chance of a lifetime to work with world class trainers to lose weight and change their lives, they were pissed that their chances of winning the game (and $250,000) were being slightly lessened.  They thought it was unfair to them that this other couple got to come into the game at all.  It was RIDICULOUS!  I have never been so angry with, disappointed in, or disgusted by people I don't know in my entire life!  The Red team completely ostracized their new member and made fun of him behind his back.  He was sent home in two weeks after a HUGE amount of drama ensued.  His sister followed him the week after that with another drama EXPLOSION (boom)!  It was ridiculous to say the least.  Since then there has been plenty of drama (what's another word for drama?) has gone down but nothing, NOTHING compared to what is in store for us this week when every contestant who has been eliminated is given the chance to compete in a challenge and get back in the game....

My comment on this:
This isn't even a twist, it happens every season and it was spelled out plainly in their contracts. All of the contestants this year (save for Daphne and Adrian) have acted like arrogant, entitled, pompous, little hypocrites. I have been disappointed by each and every one of their behavior and attitudes. They all seem like they deserve this more than the other contestants and they don't, they are equals, they all started in the same way, it's ridiculous. This season has lost the focus of paying it forward, inspiration, and weight loss; it has become all about the game, the money, and the "glory." I miss season 11 where the teams were so close with one another and so incredibly inspiring and I do miss having Jillian on the show (twould have been nice to watch her kick Conda's ass) but I am happy for her and her daughter [who she is adopting]. This is the worst season of the Biggest Loser to date.

All things considered:
I certainly hope those who violate their contracts are permanently expelled from the game and not allowed to compete for either of the monetary prizes.  I also hope that this season's horridness does not lead to the end of the show, I hope the show returns for another season with contestants who don't act like children.

The title/catchphrase/whatever for this season was "No Excuses" but they all seem to keep saying "it's not fair" (that's an excuse children).  Get over yourselves!

So that's the end of my Biggest Loser rant.  .  .  . for now .  .  .  .
